I think the best thing you could say about her
is that she was an endearing eccentric and so her loathsome views and opinions seemed fringe and oddball. She was adored by people who shared her politics, but everyone else treated her a bit dotty and she was about as likely to change public opinion as someone's racist nan.
Horrible way to go, mind you, and at a human level, I think it's all rather sad.
Thank god it wasn't someone ethnic who did the murdering though because the way politics is right now there'd be riots.
