Knew a sheriff deputy once who kept picking up kids for spraying grafitti
When they would take them home at 3am, the parent(s) would get in the cop's face, "why are you hassling my kid", etc.
One night, several kids were busted tagging a building with paint. The car was impounded. When mom/dad came to retrieve the car it was spray painted with all sorts of "art" and curse words. The parents were furious and wanted heads to roll for such vandalism.
The police didn't see a thing.
