probably real! A lot more birds can do this than just parrots, I believe even the humble starling can be taught to speak.

This is a normal post I know the little buggers can do car alarms
We used to get woken up by a dawn chorus of car alarms, intermingled with birdsong. Look out the window and no alarms are going off.

No doubt they could do speech as well!
