Spent many hot summer nights swimming in the Green River just outside of Moab
AND saw a real life druid in summer solstice in full druid gear. The temps were pushing 100, so he must have been an aesthete!

It was brilliant! Mad bloke and his wife carved a home out of the rock and lived there with the worst stuffed donkey you have ever seen!

Adventurous Place !
I spent 5 days in a canoe floating down the Green River
from Moab to the confluence on the Colorado River
saw many old ruins and petroglyphs
then got picked up by a jet boat that took us back to Moab in about 3 hours !

Oh that must have been lovely!
We went white water rafting in Moab and spent days going round the parks. My ex parents in law lived there, SUCH a gorgeous place.

I did that too
except I started at Green river. They flew us out in tiny planes which was an adventure in itself, then picked us up in a rickety old bus to drive us back to civilization. It's what started me on this adventuer: www.b3ta.com/questions/books/post162965
