There's a bunch of cool tricks you can try with microwaves
(note, however, that most of them probably have the potential to screw up your microwave)
CDs are fun because of the way you can see the sparks propagate across the disc surface. The best one is to light a candle, put a glass over it and switch on the microwave. It's a bit fiddly, but here's a video of it:
