This is a normal post Well..
If every horse (say 20) that enters the race gets just *1* company/business to support them for 50 quid - the company get a poorly printed advert pasted on the horse's arse - then that's a grand straight off. Pubs would jump at the chance. Add another 50 quid and they get thanked in the credits of the inevitable youtube video. Another grand.

Seriously - if you can't raise 10k doing this then give up.

2 quid per photo of kids sitting on panto horse of their choice. Snap, send to wireless printer, 2 quid please.

There's a hundred different ways to raise money when you do a daft race like this.

Cheers

Cheers for the heads up..Pubs are involved and infact, the 'route' involves the Horses stopping off at various pubs to get 'watered'. It would be great to raise over £10 but I'm setting the bar at £3-£5k and hope for the best. I'm looking for companies to put in at £100 per Horse (effectively £50 min donation as the horse costumes are £50 per Horse to hire.) If anyone can put the word out then it would be great as I'm looking for a company to properly sponsor the race itself as well as it costs a bit to fund obv but any help is good help.

This is a normal post Right....
Couple of glasses of red wine and my creative juices are flowing...

Race is 23rd December. Major, major piss-up time. My first port of call would be the local council offices. Early November, stand outside of them and leaflet the staff going in. Make it some sort of departmental challenge.

Rinse and repeat with every big employer in the area.

Make the cost of entry = to cost of hiring costume. Get local rag involved. Start a facebook page where teams can boast and insult each other before race day.
