This is a link post NATO names for Soviet-era fighter aircraft
I might be scared if I was in a Tornado GR3 flight pair over the North Sea in 1985 and been informed that there were four 'Flankers' coming my way, but if I was warned about 'Fishpots at 12-o'clock' I would probably laugh myself out of oxygen.

Plus, what's left? If they keep making new fighter jets I'd like to nominate 'Fuckface', 'FatBastard' and 'Foofydribble' as the next designated names.

This is a normal post They're not intended to sound cool
They're intended to be clearly understood over a crap radio link.

This is a normal post granted, sir.
but this is more for the folks who aren't conversant with NATO radio discipline required, just as a curiosity. No offence meant to our air force guardians.
