This is a normal post I'm not sure if you've done much research into this family...
but some claim that they're exploiting their daughter for donations.

highlights include:

"When she was a baby, she would get wide-eyed and look around the room. We knew right away that she was seeing imaginary animals! So we started asking her, before she could even talk, 'Are those animals you see?! What are their names?!' and eventually she was able to tell us what they were called!"

also this gem, in which they coach her to "hurt herself" so that the hospital will see her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tppzfVpcppw

I have no doubt that she may be a bit different than most children her age mentally, but it seems a lot of it is worsened by her treatment of her parents.

They continuously post on a blog asking for donations, saying they can't afford rent on their third apartment, and whatnot. And they get them. And when the donations run dry, they do another article or news spot and they pour in again.

The father admitted that when she would cry as a baby, he would hit her to make her stop. But that "that's the past, and it had no effect her mental state".

Eventually the child is going to get too old, and then I'm not sure what they'll do.

It's an interesting story, regardless.

This is a normal post i read the article
and was moved to near tears from what they must be going through.
if what you are saying has even a shred of truth to it, i may just vomit. :(

I think it may be better to ignore the possible truth and just be moved instead. Maybe just not moved enough to give them more money.

When I first heard of this girl, several years ago, I was also moved. Her story interested me enough to seek out more information, and I spent an entire night doing so... sadly, most of the information I learned was negative.

I'm not entirely sure if everything that people claim is true, but it certainly seems plausible, and there was enough evidence against the parents to make me more than a little suspicious myself.

I don't recall which parent, I believe the father, but one of them is a failed writer who is just eating up all of the publicity all of the articles get.

Here's more information about the abuse, most taken straight from the blog:

This is a normal post well there is the rest of my night.
i will be reading more, thank you.

edit: well it would seem they have a TV show coming out soon. as well as a radio show, and a foundation. i am now a bit more than a little sceptical.
also it would seem the mother is pushing for a more severe diagnosis for child number two, after he was diagnosed within the autistic spectrum.
