My guess...
The producer was originally going to have a caption on-screen which Gordon would magically sweep away with his arms (a bit like that crap Virgin Media advert where Stephen Fry ushers logos onto the screen with the power of Tai Chi). However, something messed up in post-production and they forgot to add the caption leaving Gordon looking like a div.

that would make more sense. His face looks even more weird than ever too,but i haven't been able to stomach him in years so he could have had sorts of botox/ knife work by the look of it.
