Cigarettes, gambling, porn and booze. What's your addiction? How low have you sunk and how have you tried to beat it?
Thanks to big-girl's-blouse for the suggestion

Totally unoriginal...
...but this has always been one of my favourite jokes/quotes:
"Alcoholism is a disease, but it's the only disease you can get yelled at for having. 'Dammit Otto, you're an alcoholic", "Dammit Otto, you have Lupus'...
...One of those two just doesn't sound right"
From the late and very, very much missed Mitch Hedberg.

It doesn't sound right
because it's not lupus. It's never lupus. Except that one time.
Ah, Mitch Hedberg... what a genius you were.

Alcoholism....
...is NOT a disease. It's not caused by a virus, bacteria or any other 'treatable' malady.
It is a psychological issue, and is no more a disease than bipolar disorder.
The idea that Alcoholism is a disease comes from AA indoctrination (alongside, "give it up to jesus" which is obviously a valid course of treatment...)
