I've never understoodwhy some people think that anyone who murders someone else deserves the death penalty but it doesn't count as murder if its the state that's doing the killing.
Especially in the deeply religious states of America where they have the death penalty. What would stop the bloke who pressed the death button being condemned to hell for being a murderer?
(apart from the none existence of god obviously)

And the fact that "Thou Shalt Not Kill" only applied to other jews.The old testament god was quite a fan of offing non-believers.
