I've seen JB too early 2000's just before he popped his clogs
and he was incredible. His band are amazing they are so tight. Admittedly JB was a bit doddery and he played a keyboard that wasn't switched on for a couple of bars till a roady helped him out. But he still had that voice and he was a proper showman even though he was Ill and in his 70's. When he was on stage he kicked ass I didn't begrudge him a few rests... it's the Godfather of Soul for fuck sake.

He was apearing as part of a festival so I didn't pay just to see him, but that tent was jumping I can tell you
