Banks
Your Ginger Fuhrer froths, "I hate my bank. Not because of debt or anything but because I hate being sold to - possibly pathologically so - and everytime I speak to them they try and sell me services. Gold cards, isas, insurance, you know the crap. It drives me insane. I ALREADY BANK WITH YOU. STOP IT. YOU MAKE ME FRIGHTED TO DO MY NORMAL BANKING. I'm angry even thinking about them."
So, tell us your banking stories of woe.
No doubt at least one of you has shagged in the vault, shat on a counter or thrown up in a cash machine. Or something

They can make profits
They make huge profits on the copious sums of our money that we deposit with them on payday and then spend gradually during the course of the rest of the month, plus the often larger sums we stash in savings accounts.
I don't think it is too much to expect the basic modicum of customer service when we have cause to query the way transactions with this cash are being dealt with. If we didn't give you the cash YOU WOULD NOT HAVE A BUSINESS. At all.

They don't, though
Banks lose money on current accounts; they offer them *purely so* they can get your financial details to sell you insurance, loans, etc. And they don't make much money on savings accounts, either.
Now, if you've got sizeable credit card debt or an unsecured loan, *then* you can justifiably claim that on the profits they're making from you they ought to be providing better service...
