Blood
Like a scene from The Exorcist, I once spewed a stomach-full of blood all over a charming nurse as I came round after a major dental operation. Tell us your tales of red, red horror.

we still use a live blade in Ninjutsu, and funnily enough the most dangerous part of the kata is returning the blade to the scabbard- done sloppily and you could lose a thumb, as it's all done be feeling the blade by sliding the blunt edge along the web of skin between the thumb and forefinger with eyes on the opponent at all times. thankfully despite accidents I can still count to 10 without taking my socks off
this is the reason the Fonz never carried a samurai sword - FACT
*Ninja fact - throwing stars were never meant to kill but were kept rusty so they could cause blood poisoning and or to slow down an opponent
