i think the main complaintis about bits of those 9 pints escaping to the outside world. not about them existing at all
besides, squeamishness is a bit of a basic reaction to the sight of blood all over the place rather than a properly thought through objection to seeing it. it's under about as much conscious control as sneezing (i.e. you can suppress it a bit with practice, but you don't get to pick how you want to react)
