It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.

£17Went out to buy a single book that I liked the look of, and there was a 3 for 2 offer at waterstones, so the bastards ended up with the money I had earmarked for the next fortnights food.
And yes, buying second hand is brilliant. However, it has one MAJOR drawback, especially if its me doing it. There is never an entire series in a secondhand bookshop. You go in and find an interesting looking book, buy it, read it, enjoy it, and then you want to read the next one which isnt in any secondhand bookshops. So then you go out and end up spending an inordinate amount of money on NEW books as well.
