This is a question Lucky Escapes

Freddie Woo says: Looking back on it, the moment when we left the road because I was trying to get the demister to work, regaining control just in time to miss a tree probably wasn't my finest bit of driving, nor my cleanest pair of pants. Tell us about your lucky escapes

I smell bullshit
I never managed to get the brakes on my old Mini's to have much of a noticable effect on the speed of the car at all :-) Not unless I'd just bled them for the 1 millionth time.

Well OK I did replace the front subframe of an old 850 with that of a Cooper S, giving me the disks etc., which was rather nice while it lasted. It went, stopped and rusted to bits.

It actaully reminds me of a near miss which I'll post now.

Yeah but
the only bullshit was statement 'locking the brakes' which indeed was impossible. I done an edit to 'standing on the brakes'.

That's more like it.
Can't have people massaging the truth on B3TA, can we?

I must admit the handling and small size of the Mini probably saved me from a fair few accidents too, but I put it down to my awesome driving skills too.
