This is a question Cheap Tat

OneEyedMonster remindes us about the crap you can buy in pound shops: "Batteries that lasted about an hour and then died. A screwdriver with a loose handle so I couldn't turn the damn screw, and a tape measure which wasn't at all accurate."

Similarly, my neighbour bought a lawnmower from Argos that was so cheap the wheels didn't go round, it sort of skidded over the grass whilst gently back-combing it.

What's the cheapest, most useless crap you've bought?

Drillage
A cheap hammer drill from an allegedly quality manufacturer. Shook itself to pieces (irreparably)whilst trying to drill a small hole in concrete. Arses. God bless China and the greedy people making money out of their crud.

Don't knock 'em!
When you buy a SDS drill for £35, and it comes with around £35 worth of accessories (SDS bits and chisels, chuck to take normal drills, etc.) who cares when the gearbox decides to eat its gears? You've had the drill for free? I'm on my third (I think - better go see how many SDS chisels I've got).
When the first one packed in, I took it to Makro, and as the drill had dropped in price, I got a replacement AND a fiver!
