I'm not sure how pertinent this is...But when I read your list all I could think of was:
'They won't get there any quicker, you know'
It didn't take a metric fuckload of time for me to realise that they do, indeed, get there a lot quicker than my mum / dad who would be pootling down the slow lane at what seemed like 8mph.
