Didn't find it remotely amusing and I didn’t like the way the situations/arguments are meant to be realistic but escalate and drag on to such an incomprehensible point I wanted to bang my head against a pebbledash wall until it all went away.

EDIT: I was made to watch the box set one night... Pity me.

I like it.

I am a self-confessed Seinfeld fan too. I just think that sometimes the PC barriers that are broken down in conjunction with interlacing plot lines truly put the 'situation' in Situation Comedy. It's given a free rein, can take it's time and can concentrate on it's story and characters...unlike poor British sitcoms - that are shackled by trying to prevent any miserable fuckbag complaining because there aren't enough minorities represented and they're shit scared of offending anybody etc.

Thanks a fucking yahoo to the British media for that.


Although there's way too much shouting at each other in CYE (That's a Larry David Trademark) I think the fact that there are no scripts give it an awkward edge that beats the arse off things like the office.

Totally agree
I gave it more chance to impress than i should have. Two of my closest friends gave it a great talking up (and i sat through the whole series to give it a fair crack of the whip) but i found it to be one of the most painful experiences of my life.
Larry David seems to resort to repeating things while he's trying to think of something else to bring into the inevitable argument that he pitifully draws them into.
The only way it would get a thumbs up from me would be if i was wearing an unfeasibly large prosthetic hand and the thumb was aimed squarely at where CYE was surely created.
