This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Yeah
I was dragged along to that drivel. Ghost Town was bareable, but "Lying" is formulaic shite.

My misses wanted to see it, and so, armed only with the TV trailer, I told her the plot: "bloke 'invents' lying (the only pseudo-original bit in it), man falls for girl, man and girl fall out over something shite and predictable, man or girl do something to make it all better, they live happily ever after. End.

I was pretty much right - although I only saw the start and the end - fell asleep in the middle.

You could apply said formula to Hutch, *Wedding Singer, etc...etc....

Gervais' standup is bloody excellent, IMO. I had a couple of his recored and a couple of that odd looking bloke, who's deadpan, and who's name I forget, but he is famous for doing stand-up. Watched the Gervais one, then the other twat. Gervais's stand-up was so much better by comparison, and much more natural.

* I didn't mind that one, but only 'cos I'm an 80's music freak - the soundtrack made it almost ok.
