Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

that someone gets it.
you're right - windows has some issues, the fact that the way i work is to a degree determined by someone i've not met, in seattle or palo alto or somewhere, is a little irritating. But not, to be honest, as irritating as people that talk AT me about fucking linux, and how wondrously flexible it is. I'm sure it is, but i really don't have time to sit down and write my own OS. I don't care about it's threading capabilities, i've zero interest in different iterations of it, or it's genesis, or it's uses. And, as with any group of evanglicals, the converted can get quite pissy about any contradiction to their view, which seems to be seen as heresy. I had a colleague drone on about how i should love linux as the movie i'd watched on the plane that day (he might have thought it through and realised that i'm not at my most charming after 13 hours on a plane, but no...) was almost certainly streamed using linux, and therefore i should be grateful.. I'm ashamed to say the whole hotel bar looked at me as i screamed "fuck off you window licking twat"
ooh, that was almost cathartic. Thanks for listening.
