my dad once drove over a toll bridge without paying anything.
In his defence, the tollbooth was a shed with a bloke sitting in it, collecting 5p (yes, that's all!) from each car, and my dad hadn't noticed until the bloke came running after us.
(I think this may have been in Selby - any locals confirm that there a toll bridge there?)
