My son came out to the then Mr Quar and me when he was 16and we weren't shocked, only surprised.
I asked, how d'you mean, gay? and he said, well, I fancy men, not women...
To which I wittily replied, well, I fancy men too, does that make me a lesbian?
For some reason, Sonny wasn't amused.
