My Biggest Disappointment
Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."
Well, Freddy, you are supposed to get someone else to wear them.
What's disappointed you lot?

Agreed:
Mass effect is very, very obviously influenced by KOTOR, but sadly is still very console-ified.
The PC version has a much improved interface, true, but it still has 39 planets on which there are structures with... 3 floorplans. (Lab, warehouse, abandoned mine). Seriously. 3. All human, too, despite the nicely backgrounded and differentiated alien races.
The characters and plot are excellent, and if you have the slightest shooter-y ability I'd recommend not playing it on anything less than the hardest difficulty you can access at the start of the game (the two harder ones are unlocked later).
Unlike KOTOR which basically went "Talk to this man. Now fight some folks. A bit more chatting, then another fight", I playerd for nearly two hours between the first and second fight scenes and was not in the slightest bit bored.
