Often the things we look forward to the most turn out to be a huge let down. As Freddy Woo puts it, "High heels in bed? No fun at all. Porn has a lot to answer for."

Have you tried a vice?

Or is it like with mussels - you know, if they won't open they must be off?

I had an embarrassing pistachio experience once, at a conference, where I chucked a handful of nuts in my mouth without realising they were unshelled pistachios.
