Up to a point Lord Copper, surely?I regularly pull newsprint in 2 tonne rolls, and before loading I have to sweep the floor of the trailer. And sweep it it again. And again. If there's the slightest nick in the edge the reel will rip as it feeds.
I would have though a squashed rat would do more damage.
