On the National Lottery,50% of the ticket cost goes in the prize pot. So the average return on investment will be -50%. But it's actually lower than that due to the number of unclaimed prizes. And as for the charity side of things, I'm white, straight, with an okay job and no disabilities, so I'm not going to see a penny of that.
Oh, and if I wanted to give money to charity, I'd do it more directly.
The ultimate idiot tax? Religion.
