Drunk Parents
Watching the old man swing home from the pub and start arguing with Newsnight can be either funny, slightly unnerving or just plain terrifying. Tell us about daft things parents have done while they've been in their cups.

oh, and while i'm about it, the reason it's called 'talk' is because it's basically a conversation.
conversations usually involve people pausing for breath long enough to let someone else offer a statement or opinion. hence the one-liner nature of it over there. i'm sure at some point /endlessdullselfrighteousness will be created to make space for you to run free in, protected from horrid internet bullies who don't leg it to the rofflecopter every time you post something.
cheers.

i'm sure talk is great.
I don't have time to follow conversations for an length of time so I enjoy QOTW.
Actually, I enjoyed QOTW; it used to have me laughing out loud. Not so much these days. Where have all the fun posts gone?

no idea.
i mean, in all fairness, legless' story isn't remotely funny or interesting to anyone outside his immediate family. so i called him on it, and off we go AGAIN on this whole talk v qotw west side story shit that people seem to get so excited about.
cheers.

I like Legless and I like a lot of his posts
This one, nope, but it was on topic, and someone might enjoy it.
It wasn't absolute fucking shit, or an unfunny lie, or anything like that.
I fully support going after idiots, but surely nothing posts like that would be better left alone? it's not a cry for validation, or support or any other whiny shit.
there are some people who use talk and qotw successfully aren't there?

probably. the furry dinosaur springs to mind.
the reason i called legless on this one is that really, it was just so dull i couldn't imagine why he felt it was a worthwhile contribution. and yes, i did it in textbook /talk fashion. i'm just really, really tired of 'old-time' qotwers either moaning on about how it's not like it was in the old days when you could leave your doors unlocked and all that nonsense, or posting brain-meltingly dull/badly written stories and then running off crying if their screen doesn't fill with 'clickities' or 'woo! i like this!' within seconds.
cheers.

the old days were good, years back...
but then we got loads of whiny, support-me, needy posts, or stuff that was really badly written (although that was fun, sometimes)...
there is quite a lot of flouncing goes on though.
cheers.

making your way on the boards today takes everything you've got
getting away from all these /talkers sure would help a lot
wouldn't you like to get away?
sometimes you want to go
where everybody knows your name
and they never ever flame
you need to go where you can know
the posters are all the same
you need to go where everybody rates your game
cheers
