This is a question Expensive Weekends

Chthonic says he's still reeling from a trip to a wedding that cost him nearly £600; while a friend of ours hazily presented his credit card to the bar staff in a shady club in the Baltic states. You know how that one ended.

That's what you get for venturing out of London

Went to Arsenal this weekend just gone
Being the follower of a shitty Championship club with the skill and poise of a bunch of dead pit ponies, I'm used to getting my footie fix cheap. Arsenal was fucking expensive. Speant all my time shouting: "HOW MUCH???" For the vaious crap they were peddling.

Nice stadium though - reminds me of that big spaceship out of Independence Day.

Reminds me... Port Vale Cup Replay, 1998 (?)
Ah, cars and away trips.

Great drive up from London, main road we took in to Stoke looked like it had been opened that afternoon, no traffic, smooth, smooth ride. Couldn't have parked closer to stadium.

Half-time, grabbing a drink, not sure why it entered my consciousness, but became aware of a tannoy announcement, turned to my mate and said, "Er, Si, what's your registration..."

Yup, the player's car park is close to the stadium, alright. Luckily managed to move car before they towed it, otherwise could have been a very long night (especially after going to extra time/penalties).

Another time, Everton away, met a bloke who claimed he hadn't paid to get into an away game in years. His trick? Go up to the turnstiles five minutes into the game, shake his car keys at the steward, say "right, I've moved my car, can I get back in?"

Worked every time apparently. Probably wouldn't nowadays due to all stewards being miked up etc.
