Faking it
Rakky writes, "We've all done it. From qualifications to orgasms, everyone likes to play 'let's pretend' once in a while."
So when have you faked it? Did you get away with it? Or were your mendacious ways exposed?

US Civil War 2
Detroit is due a nuke in less than 2 years.
This timeline is about 18 months out of synch with the base reference but it's following the standard pattern pretty closely.
Obama gets elected, US foreign policy pretends to turn all pink and fluffy whilst actually just stealing and hoarding all the oil it can get its hands on. The suburban areas of the USA start to die off as fuel prices rise and the cost of living skyrockets anywhere outside a self sufficient commune or within walking distance of your place of work.
Revolts are ruthlessly put down by the rapidly weakening central government and then it really kicks off big style.
The "War on Terror" is indeed the first shot in this one, and the bad guys are firmly in wall street, as ever.
