Family codes and rituals
Freddy Woo writes, "as a child we used to have a 'whoever cuts doesn't choose the slice' rule with cake. It worked brilliantly, but it's left me completely anal about dividing up food - my wife just takes the piss as I ritually compare all the slice sizes."
What codes and rituals does your family have?

Blue Peter Appeal lorries
When I were a lad, they used to use Roadline for their appeals, which is a long-defunct company. Having the Roadline logo on Blue Peter week after week clearly made an impression because last time I went along the M6 I saw the remains of one sitting in a scrapyard, and actually felt a bit of a sad twinge. Memories of childhood and all that . Such a recognisable logo even after all these years.
I've just a quick google, and actually found a picture of that very lorry: www.autoshite.com/first-id-102.htm . (And I learn that they actually live on in Lynx, which is nice.)

How strange.
I wonder if the BBC realise the potency of their subtle advertisements?
