Family Feuds
Pooster tells us that a relative was once sent to the shops to buy an onion, while the rest of the family went on a daytrip while he was gone. Meanwhile, whole sections of our extended kin still haven't got over a wedding brawl fifteen years ago – tell us about families at war.

Its the story
But the escalation to personal insults before either of them knew the facts is whats caused the feud. Its gone beyond "Shes parked in my drive" to "She called me a stupid fucking spoiled bitch"
I married her because I love her and she is absolutely fine in every other aspect except she's fallen out with my mum over something stupid.
If my mum had come out and said "sorry its a medical emergency" instead of "Oh fuck off you've got plenty of room" then perhaps the whole thing would have been fine. I personally prefer staying out of it and am nice to them both.

True, but in retrospect...
...I would have expected your wife to make allowances after the fact considering the circumstances and stress of the situation. I think 'Oh fuck off there's plenty of room' seems reasonable to me!
Not getting an enormous amount of sympathy are ya! :-) You big scaredy fanny-pipe! (Joking, I expect it's not that simple. You might want to start knocking the missus around though, so she stops taking liberties).

It's the old domestic violence versus domestic abuse argument again.
