I recall Paddington being shut on the last day of Reading Festival (04?)
So they created makeshift queuelines for the twice hourly stopping at every-bloody-where service (usually over 4 services an hour to london), all crammed into 2 trains that take 3 times as long. I was stuck waiting as that was my only train home (one of the stops on the every-bloody-where) carrying a PC. Several hours spent carrying a weekend of camping gear (see, LAN parties have them too), and computer.
Lots of obviously still intoxicated people asking "where I'd swiped that from"...
