Get your hearing checked toosometimes tinnitus can be made worse because of straining to hear and hearing-aids can sometimes help.
You will also then be able to ask for noise generators to try from your local Audiology dept.

thanks for thatfor have a look! oddly enough my hearing is still very good; I'll often be able hear things that others can't etc. strange really.
