Turning into your parents
Unable to hold back the genetic tide, I find myself gardening in my carpet slippers, asking for a knife and fork in McDonalds and agreeing with the Daily Telegraph. I'm beyond help - what about you?
Thanks to b3th for the suggestion

I suppose I should be ashamed
of my musical tastes, occassionally irresponsible drinking and not really caring two bits about 'wine knowledge'.
As far as I might agree with you on the point of discos, you just sound pretentious saying all that. None of these make you any better.

uh...
I never actually said I was better.
*checks post*
Nope, no mention of "better" anywhere in it. If I came over as pretentious or trying to claim that I am better or superior in any way, clearly you are reading too far into my post. I did not intend to give out any message that I was better than anyone, only to show the ways in which I believe I have turned into my parents, which is the subject of this QOTW. Therefore, sir, you are essentially calling my parents snobs. And that, sir, is bad form.

"I think those teens who choose to get drunk so they can "have a good time" are degenerates.
I do not associate myself with these degenerates."
This screams 'I am better' - 'degenerate' is a word with obvious negative connotations. You are not better.

oh ffs...
How many people on QOTW are going to pick holes in other's posts, or even try and start an argument with someone due to the connotations of a word?
I chose that word (honestly, English exam soon and in my free time I'm talking about word choice. Madness...) out of jest, not of spite. I know full well the connotations of "degenerate", hence the reason I chose it.
I've already said I was not trying to show myself as better in my earlier reply. However, as you clearly chose to ignore it after probably reading the first few lines, I shall repeat it here, in big capital letters so you can't miss it, ok?
I DO NOT THINK I AM BETTER.
There, you can thank me later for repeating myself.
Now, if you feel the urge to respond to this reply, first respond to this: aw, why can't we all just get along and not argue on an internet forum/messageboard-thingy?

Mine's usually whatever I can afford.
Beggars can't be choosers, you know.
