This is a question Grandparents

My awesome grandad flew in Wellingtons in the war. Damn, those shortages were terrible. Tell us about brilliant-stroke-rubbish grandparents.

My gran
At the age of about 80 she was knocked over by a lorry while shopping. After that she would always say, "If it wasn't for that lorry I'd still be alive today." She lived to within a few weeks of her 100th birthday.

She loved watching the wrestling on TV but had to stop as she would get too worked up by it. She also loved the snooker. When she first got a colour TV she asked my dad to take it back to the shop as it was "unnatural". As a compromise he turned down the colour so everything was in muted shades of brown. No idea how she followed the snooker, but she was addicted to it.

i liked your description of your grandparents
My gran and grandad had a black and white tv too
they also used to watch the snooker and horse racing and wrestling
(none of that wwf new fangled crap though. We are talking more big daddy, Mick macmanus and giant haystacks era)

How the fuck my grandad knew what horse was winning
or what was going on when the snooker was on is anyones guess

For some reason the tv always seemed to be on at a inaudible level with my Grandad always straining to listen to it. which only added to the confusion....

They probably thought
that it used less electricity with the sound turned down so they would get smaller bills. Seriously, I never knew my grandparents but having experienced some of the bullshit logic that some of my older aunts and uncles came out with at times it would not surprise me.
