death by dinnerabout 15 years ago, i ran into a good friend of mine. upon asking how she was, she told me that her father had recently died. obviously, i felt very sorry for her. then she told me that she'd found his body. my god, i thought, what an horrific thing to go through!
"how did he die?" i asked her.
"he choked to death on a sausage," she replied. i know it's not funny, but god help me, i laughed. after i'd stopped, i immediately apologised. "don't worry about it," she reassured me. "i've told quite a few people, they all laugh at first."
