For many yearsI laboured under the misapprehension that Ted Heath the bandleader and Ted Heath the politician were one and the same person, because I'd been told this was the case at a young age.
In fact, it was only a couple of years back that I found out the truth. From my mother.
Suckered for 30 years. Bah.

Co-incidenceTed Heath was a good friend of my grandfather and a few years ago my Dad passed on an assortment of christmas cards and letters from Ted's time as a local politician right up to Prime Minister.
I was told that Dad had removed any letters of real meaning etc and the rest were essentially junk or meaningless, "see what you can do with them".
eBay beckoned and they sold quite well as a number of small collections of hand written items from a dead prime minister.
