This is a question Helicopter Parents

Back when young ScaryDuck worked in the Dole office rather than simply queuing in it, he had to deal with a claimant brought in by his mum. She did all the talking. He was 40 years old.

Have you had to deal with over-protective parents? Get your Dad to tell us all about it.

Well, that blows.
Reminds me of a lady who I (very briefly) went out with back in high school.

She wanted to keep the whole thing a secret because her mother objected to her stepping out with a white boy. Needless to say it didn't last five minutes after I heard that...

Good on ya
I'm an Indian dude myself and frankly the Indian community here in NZ is ridiculous in that respect. You see it all the time: Indian folks in their 20's dating non-Indians secretly so their parents don't find out (for that would bring the greatest shame upon their family...apparantly).

Well, fuck that. How could that possibly be conducive to a long-term relationship?

Luckily my parents aren't like that anymore.
