Well, that blows.
Reminds me of a lady who I (very briefly) went out with back in high school.
She wanted to keep the whole thing a secret because her mother objected to her stepping out with a white boy. Needless to say it didn't last five minutes after I heard that...

I'm an Indian dude myself and frankly the Indian community here in NZ is ridiculous in that respect. You see it all the time: Indian folks in their 20's dating non-Indians secretly so their parents don't find out (for that would bring the greatest shame upon their family...apparantly).
Well, fuck that. How could that possibly be conducive to a long-term relationship?
Luckily my parents aren't like that anymore.
