Accepting the exceptions of how the effects of half a hearth might affect you, whether it is stationary or not, I think its quite easy to allude to the ease in which the correct spelling might elude someone. Indeed, since the primary role of language is to elicit information, the fact that its use may be illicit is irrelevant as long as the intended meaning is clear.
