Ach, SweetheartI don't normally do the *hugs* thing over the sad posts, but my heart goes out to you, as I've been ground-up in the bullymill also.
I wanted to say that it sounds like you did exactly the right things, given the circumstances. Asking the appropriate authorities for help was the most mature and constructive form of standing up for yourself that you could have taken from such a vulnerable position.
And, yes, they failed you, but that is not your fault.
