closing car doorswhen I was about 15 I went thru a nasty period of every time I touched the car door to shut it, I got a static electric shock.
It got to the point where I'd been subconsciously conditioned, and I'd get out the car and stand there, unable to bring myself to touch the top corner of the door to shut it.
I went and put masking tape on all door corners on the car and it was fine after that.
I still am prone to static, - escalators, metal shop doors, other people...
