My Mom's attempt at a cockney accentWe are American, and despite my love of phonology and phonetics (or maybe because of it, i get chills and this strange panicky feeling when she uses it. She used to love to talk that way when she was saying goodnight when I was little, and I'm pretty sure there were nightmares involving the "imposter mom" theme as a result.
