But I've seen it loads of times.
The two meanings sound different, see. One sounds like "breth" and the other sounds like "breeeeeeth". It's when they're written down that the trouble starts, because the ignorant fuckers don't know the two words are spelled differently.
Loose/Lose is even worse, because "loose" has a short vowel sound but is spelled with a diphthong, while "lose" has a long one but is spelled with a single vowel.
