And furthermore...What's with that ridiculous [with obj.]? What's wrong with [transitive] or even the abbreviation [tr.]? Any properly-educated person knows what transitive means because he will have had it beaten into him at an expensive single-sex school.
Honestly, if the OED has sunk to the point of celebrating ignorance then there is truly no hope.
