Interesting* fact for the dayIn the UK at least, 'to hoover' is now officially recognised as a verb referring to the act of using any vacuum cleaner, and 'a hoover' is a generic term for a vacuum cleaner. The company, Hoover, failed to protect its trademark and thus anyone can now refer to their vacuum cleaner product as 'a hoover'.
