I've never felt anything lacking at all with XP.Sure, mine's a reinstall as my first was borked. But, my laptop is 5 years old (!) and working perfectly, no doubt due to XP's small running memory needs (don't know the correct name for that...)

XP was good enough that MS had to go out of their way to kill it, which they have now successfully done by not releasing DX, IE, etc for XP, and ending LTS in 2014, at which point you'd be a fool to use it online. Pity, really.
