As a person from the Black Country I understandIt's not a word I'd use, but it is what my mom calls my little sister.
The worst I ever read was a national newspaper article about people from the Black Country being so fond of kebabs that they referred to them as "our bab" - this is complete and utter horseshit. No-one would ever call a kebab a "bab" even in the Midlands.
