Sue Denham writes, "I once slipped out of work two hours early without the boss noticing. In my hurry to make the most of this petty victory, I knocked myself out on the car door and spent the rest of the day semi-conscious, bowking rich brown vomit over my one and only suit."
Have you been visited by the forces of Karma, or watched it happen to other people?
Thanks to Pooflake for the suggestion

She probably wasn't fired
And it's the Department for Work and Pensions now. Their job is to give everyone a job and a pension at the end of it, they're achieving this by privatising everything. How much better do you think the service will be when JCP is staffed by Capita cretins on minimum wage? It's only a matter of time before they sell off the "front line"!
She was most likely either on a fixed term contract or a "friends and family" casual appointment, most likely the latter. FTAs have to go through the same "fair and open" recruitment process as permanent members of staff so it's usually the casuals who are the biggest waste. Casuals have to leave after a year otherwise the law says they have to become permanent, it's amazing how often managers simply forget who the casuals are and allow them to become permanent by default though.
Obviously I worked there (not in JCP though), unfortunately I only got out via privatisation.
